Athlete's Care is a network of Toronto sports medicine clinics providing high quality rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic and more. Our sports medicine physicians specialize in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of sport and recreational injuries and day-to-day aches and pains. Consultations with a sports medicine doctor are available at our downtown Toronto sports medicine clinic locations in the underground PATH, North York, in the Beach and in the communities we serve in Brampton, Oakville, MIssissauga, Vaughan and Scarborough.
Our team of Toronto Sports Medicine Physicians have expertise and knowledge in the areas of musculoskeletal medicine and sport related injuries. They are Medical Doctors licenced by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and hold the Diploma in Sport Medicine. The Diploma in Sport Medicine is issued after a national certification examination administered by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and is recognized by international organizations as a certificate of added qualifications in Sports Medicine.
Collectively, the experience of the sports medicine doctors at Athlete's Care spans decades of research, education and clinical practice. They have provided medical coverage for various sporting teams and events at the National and International levels. Regarded as leaders and mentors in the field of sports medicine, they are involved with teaching programs for the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine Department of Community and Family Medicine and the Sports Medicine Fellowship program.
Our sports medicine doctors are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team of practitioners at Athlete's Care. Following a thorough physical examination, assessment and if necessary diagnostic imaging such as xrays, ultrasound or an MRI, the sport medicine physician is able to interpret imaging results, diagnose a musculoskeletal impairment or sport injury and recommend an appropriate treatment plan. Often the treatment plan may involve a referral to a specialist such as an orthopedic surgeon or to a rehabilitative service such as physiotherapy, massage therapy and/or chiropractic. The treatment plan may also include the temporary use of a brace or orthopedic device. The Toronto sports medicine specialists at Athlete's Care may also use PRP (Platelet RIch Plasma) injections or HA (Hyaluronic Acid) viscosupplementation to assist in the treatment and recovery of an injury.
