Biography

Tiffany Tiu holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology (High Honours) and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She is currently the co-president of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association Central Toronto District. She is also an executive at the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Pain Science Division.

With a strong background as a strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer at the University of Toronto, Tiffany has extensive experience coaching student-athletes and clients of all ages. She is passionate about providing exceptional musculoskeletal care and tailored exercise programs, helping clients achieve their goals of getting stronger, being fitter, and having less pain.

Tiffany is committed to evidence-based practice, regularly consuming and applying extensive research to her client care, assessments, treatments, patient education, and exercise prescriptions. Guided by the motto, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care," the client-centred approach spearheads her care, a whole-person biopsychosocial consideration is her lens, and evidence-informed care is her backdrop.

In addition to her clinical work, Tiffany is passionate about advancing physiotherapy standards through knowledge mobilization and creation. She is the host and executive producer of "Paincast," a Canadian Physiotherapy Association podcast aimed to facilitate knowledge translation, discussion, and critical thinking, on topics related to pain and physiotherapy. Through this platform, she educates and advocates for the physiotherapy profession, and mentors physiotherapy students to become inquisitive, critical future clinicians. Tiffany is also a clinician-researcher at the Biomechanics of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Lab at the University of Toronto and has presented at national, provincial, and local conferences.

Her dedication to the field has been recognized with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Student Leadership Award and the Ontario Physiotherapy Association Student/New Grad Leadership Award in 2023. Follow Tiffany on Instagram @fitt.physio.tiff.
