Brenda is the Clinic Director at Athlete’s Care Vaughan and has been providing physiotherapy care in the Maple/Vaughan community for more than 20 years. Brenda graduated from McMaster University in 1993 with her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy. Prior to this she completed a 4 year Bachelor of Physical Education also at McMaster.
Brenda has extensive experience in the treatment of acute and chronic muscle and joint injuries, as well as post operative patients (i.e. Rotator Cuff repairs, ACL reconstructions, post fracture rehab). She has completed numerous post-graduate courses that include; Parts A through E in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (back and neck); ; Acupuncture Levels I and II through Acupuncture Canada, Manual Therapy courses and courses offered by the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute.
Over her 25 year career, Brenda has been involved in the treatment of many elite level athletes. She has directly worked with OHL, PJHL, OMHA and GTHL hockey players and teams (Aurora Tigers JR A, Toronto Young Nationals, Markham Waxers and Thornhill Rattlers). With a background in dance, Brenda has been involved in the treatment of acute and chronic injuries of competitive and recreational dancers in the community of Vaughan.
Brenda acts as a mentor for new Physiotherapy graduates. She is a supervisor for students involved in the York Region Secondary School Co-Operative Education Programs and in the past for GTA based Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma program students.
Brenda’s assessment and treatment focuses on each patient’s specific needs and goals, working with you to create your individual Plan of Care .
Brenda’s personal interests include golf, yoga and paddle boarding.
